Could we add the same entity twice in one relationship type?
AnsweredHello All,
I will refer to one of the example as below.
A toilet paper exist of 1 or more plies, if it’s exist of 2 or more plies, it could be a hybrid product and the 1st and 3rd plies using the same Jumbo reel (AB024) and the 2nd ply is using a recycled paper grade / jumbo reel (AB080).
Note: We want to keep the sequence as it is even if the Ply are Repeating
According to my understanding we can not add same entities twice in a relationship. Please confirm
Is there any alternative to achive this scenario?
Thanks!

Hi Kajal,
We can not add same entity multiple times in same relationship.
But from your question what I understand is you are trying to store different paper grade ply values ,
IF these are 5 fields only then you can make them as relationship attributes such as papergrade 1st ply , papergrade 2nd play and so on.
That way you can store each of its value and entity is added in relationship just once.
Let me know your thoughts.

According to our internal discussion, this are not field so we can not create as an relationship attribute.
Thanks!

Relationships in the platform is to relate 2 entities with a defined purpose, details of the relationship can be captured via relationship attributes. As of today, platform doesn't support relating same entity twice.
By reviewing at the example shared, It seems nested attribute is the best fit where the order of the play and other quantities can be captured as expected.
